Walz & Goode ventured down from Bellingham to visit for the weekend. Scott and I took them to the Black Cat because of its shuffleboard tables. The place was pretty crowded, so we had to wait for a while until a table opened. We finally got throwing and noticed the peculiar antics at the next table over. It turns out they were playing for $50/game, and things weren’t looking good for one individual who was losing his second game. Fortunately, alcohol helps people be reasonable, so he was on his best behavior. He sat out the next game and heckled the guy he’d lost to. Fortunately it was last call and there could be no more money lost. What a great game when you don’t play for money. We play for beer. PDX won, twice.

Human Text Parser
I spent the last two days parsing about 1000 pages of text for incorrect answers to quizzes. It sucked really badly, and I was perplexed as to why the instructor didn’t check to make sure the changes he made worked before making them to all the quizzes in all his classes. Something I was always told in school, “check your work.”

green curry
My vision is now returning after Michelle’s first foray into Green Curry. It was so good that is was pan-galactic. I think maybe she erred on the curry paste measurements. Whose to say that’s bad?
Sure, laugh now

Lax vehicle emission control has made the air bad. Crawling around will help with the smog. |

De-Thatchered
“And I would be the last person to deny any person the right to freedom of speech and the right to protest against matters which support his beliefs,” said the judge.
“But the way you acted to knock the head off a valuable statue of a politician who left power over 10 years ago and whose party is no longer the party of government, was very much the wrong way.”
I wish I had read this Monday. This is a good story to start a week with.
debating sick day
I’ve never called in sick to work. I’ve missed precious few days of school for sickness as well. But yesterday I had a cold that was making it difficult to read, speak with people on the phone, and be patient. I meant to go home early and take some sick time, but the break in work never arrised. Now I’m contemplating calling in because my eyes hurt, my nose is running, and I keep coughing up pieces from the sets of alien movies. Too bad its already going to be a four day week.

Watch your grammar, cause because you never know who is reading.
Dead Battery
I left the lights on in my car and the battery died, so I couldn’t go home for lunch. Sadly, I had to buy a crap for ingredients sandwhich, which my mouth still reeks of. (bah! bad onions) However, while surfing during lunch, I found the 25 best Simpsons Episodes list at Entertainment Weekly. What great memories. Sadly, they all seem to be from nearly a decade ago. Fox just signed them up for 2 more seasons, but will they have any material left?
Michelle, if you read this, will you come jump me after work?
Bert’s Debut
The Late Great Bert Grant made his debut as a tap handle serving the first sips of my reformulated Yakima IPA. Lets just say its humulurific, lupaforic, and yaktastick at 84 IBU.
