How many times must I type in my old password before remembering that I changed it?

And how many times must I tell Hotmail to remember my password before it actually does? The feature worked flawlessly for, oh, roughly six years and then suddenly no matter how many times you check the checkbox, Firefox or IE or whatever doesn’t remember your password. Then suddenly it worked again. For all of a month. Now it’s back to crap.
I mean, you set up all of your bookmarks and passwords so that on a private compy you can browse for hours without ever touching a keyboard. And now this!
