Procedure Library for Adding Themes to a Project
The purpose of this procedure library is to add a theme to a project. This will be very useful for any projects you are working on.
Prepared by Andy Freed (freed@cc.wwu.edu) on October 11th, 2000.
Required: ArcView GIS,
Definitions: Themes are additional layers of feature or image information that can be added to a project.
Procedure:
1. ArcView should be open already. If not, do so. See the procedure for it in Proclib 1.
2. If you are in new project, select VIEW from the Table of Contents. Then create a new view.
3. From the top menu, Click the Add Theme button. It looks like a plus sign, so it will be easy to see.
4. An Add View dialog box will open. You will need to navigate to a location that you know a theme to be. Select the directories on the right side, and look for the feature or image data to show up on the left. When it does show up, double click on it.
5. The new theme will be added to the view window, but it will not be made active automatically.
6. Click the active box in the view window to make your new theme active.
7. Repeat this process to add more themes.
