If you want to smell stinky, check out the effluent plant (EP) at my work. When I used to work at the truck rack for security, it was located just adjacent to the EP and when the wind was blowing in the right direction, it was like this overpowering ammonia scent.
I can imagine the scent is somewhat akin to living downwind of both the paper/pulp mill and the man regional compost facility! You can definatly tell which way the winds blowing … w/o anything but your nose! :)
