This may not be funny to anyone else, but I get a kick out of typos in concrete. I’m especially satisfied to have found one that was done recently. Not necessarily as interesting as “Somner” or “Surman,” but still kind of funny.
Now if only I could find a street name in H4xOr.
Are these carved into the sidewalks themselves? Is this a common thing? I’ve never seen that before. Usually just signs. Carving it in like that is totally 1337. Yeah…
The letters are stamped in to the wet cement. These were the street names, but you can also find the names of the guys who poured the cement or sometimes the homeowners. It is somewhat common in older cities. Here’s a better picture: http://freed.dyndns.org/images/surman_mess.jpg
