I’ve completed 2500 work units

I’ve completed 2500 work units for the Seti@Home project. Woohoo! That puts me in 94540th place overall. I colorized the certificate because it was kind of dull otherwise. The last certificate I received was back in November of 2001.

  1. What is Seti@Home, forgive me, I am not up on Geek news. Does it have to do with half alligator/sharks half men?

  2. No, its a screensaver/utility that uses space CPU cycles to analyze radio frequency data for patterns. If any of the patterns are significant, the group will go to Aricebo in Puerto Rico and look at the sections of sky that those odd radio frequencies came from in hopes that its intelligent life. The project name – SETI – is Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. Like in the move Contact.

    I started the project back in 1998 in the dorms. I used to get hypnotized by the screensaver instead of doing homework.
